IBMA Belgium Chair Gil Luypaert presents in the European Parliament conference : Towards a Just Transition: IPM, biocontrol and the path beyond pesticides
On March 4, Gil Luypaert presented at a European Parliament event hosted by MEP Manuela Ripa (EPP), Dario Nardella (S&D), Pesticide Action Network Europe, Friends of the Earth Europe, and the European Federation of Food, Agriculture, and Tourism Trade Unions.
The event focused on the path toward resilient agriculture through a just transition, including the use of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and biocontrol solutions.
Gil delivered an excellent presentation, highlighting the importance of biocontrol in supporting the transition, improving farmers’ productivity, and enhancing European competitiveness. He also emphasized that many effective solutions remain stuck in the pipeline and stressed the urgent need for appropriate legal measures to provide farmers with better access to biocontrol options.
