The Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting (ABIM) 2025 will take place from 20 to 22 October in Basel, Switzerland. The organization is now inviting attendees who are active in the field of biocontrol to submit abstracts for presentations.
We invite submissions for the following sessions and workshops:
- Showcasing innovations (20 October 2025, 14:00-16:00 CET)
Plant health is a top priority for farmers, who urgently need more effective biocontrol solutions to protect their crops and sustain food production. Biocontrol companies are stepping up to meet this challenge. This session will showcase cutting-edge innovations, offering insights into the latest advancements shaping the future of crop protection. We are looking for innovations in all biocontrol categories Microbials, Semiochemicals, Natural Substances and Invertebrate Biocontrol Agents (macrobials).
- Formulation and Application Workshop (21 October 2025, 08:30-10:00 CET)
Formulation technology has evolved significantly since the early days of biocontrol, enhancing efficacy and optimizing how biocontrol works.
This workshop will delve into the role of formulation and application technologies in advancing biocontrol. Given the mode of action of biocontrol, correct application of the material plays an important role in success. New technologies play a crucial role here.
- How AI is shaping the future of biocontrol (22 October 2025, 08:30-10:00 CET)
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming product development and screening by reducing timelines and costs. Machine learning enables the prediction of molecular structures with optimal efficacy and safety profiles, accelerating the creation of next-generation solutions.
Beyond development, AI continuously enhances modelling accuracy, predicts disease and pest outbreaks, and improves pattern recognition. These technologies are advancing the biocontrol industry
Submission deadline
Please submit an abstract to the session of your choice via the online registration system by 15 June 2025, 23:59 CET.
Review process
Abstract proposals will be assessed by the Executive Board of ABIM AG. The review will look at the clarity of content, quality, and rigour, its relationship to the meeting vision and purpose, interest, and usefulness of content to meeting attendees.
Notification of outcomes of assessment of abstracts and the confirmation of acceptance of the presentation, are expected to be available by 15 July 2025. Selected speakers will have to register to attend the conference (free of charge).
If you are not chosen for an oral presentation please consider to book a poster in the poster exhibition. Poster authors get the opportunity to present their poster during the poster session. Posters can be booked during the registration process, submission is not required. More information
You can still benefit from the early-bird conference fee until 31 July 2025.
