Appointment of IBMA Regulatory Adviser

We are delighted to announce that Jeroen Meeussen joins IBMA as Regulatory Adviser.

Jeroen Meeussen is a plant pathologist by training and has a long history in crop protection and regulatory affairs. Jeroen worked for more than 20 years at the Board for the authorisation of plant protection products and biocides (Ctgb) in the Netherlands. Jeroen has spent nearly 5 years (2010-2015) working for the European Commission as a national expert in DG SANTE, responsible for various projects related to the implementation of Regulation 1107/2009, including the development of numerous Guidance Documents, progressing the issue of ‘minor uses’ and initiating the EU Working Group on Biopesticides. From 2015-2020, Jeroen held the post of Coordinator in the EU Minor Uses Coordination Facility, based in Paris. For the past three years Jeroen has been a Technical Director with ERM consultancy, working within the Crop Protection team. From 2005-2020 Jeroen has also chaired the Expert Group on Biopesticides (EGBP) as part of the Pesticide Programme of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

Jeroen will lead the IBMA Regulatory Working Group, provide regulatory advice to the Secretariat, and manage IBMA’s inputs on biostimulant issues.  In addition, working with IBMA’s Technical Project Manager, Jeremy Belzunces, Jeroen will advice on the work for the RATION Horizon project working on risk assessment schemes for low-risk substances and products.

Jeroen is a Dutch National and lives in Wageningen, the Netherlands with his wife and puppy.
