Join EFSA Stakeholder Discussion Group on Environmental Risk Assessment

This year, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) started a Stakeholder Discussion Group on Environmental Risk Assessment (ERA). It is a platform for engagement and collaboration between EFSA and stakeholder experts in ERA.

As IBMA has a seat in this group, we are now seeking members interested in representing us in the forum. and welcome expressions of interest from candidates eager to contribute.

The ERA Stakeholder Discussion Group will meet at least once a year in a plenary session organized by EFSA, where participants will be updated and consulted on EFSA’s ERA activities. Additionally, the group may be called upon for input or feedback on specific high-priority topics, with virtual meetings held as needed.

As part of EFSA’s 2024 project to develop a stepwise methodology for fit-for-purpose environmental risk assessments—particularly for low-concern active substances—EFSA will host a workshop on January 15-16, 2025, in Thessaloniki. This workshop will provide an opportunity to contribute to the methodological advancements for ERA in Europe. The IBMA representative in the ERA discussion group will be expected to attend the meeting.

Please find all details about the scope, composition, roles and more here.

To apply, send an email with your CV to jeremy.belzunces@ibma-global.org by 20 November 2024.
