IBMA Spain participates in “Grupo Operativo Supra-autonómico SALUD DEL OLIVAR”
The consortium, led by the Granada-based company DOMCA, is made up of DCOOP (Málaga) olive oil producer, the R&D company NEVAL (Valencia), Visiona IP (Madrid), the AINIA Technological Center (Valencia ) and IBMA Spain.
The main objective of this working group is to develop methods of natural origin to fight against pests that pose a potential threat to the olive sector.
In a first stage of the project, at the laboratory level, compounds of plant and biotechnological origin that demonstrate activity against bacteria and fungi responsible for producing disease in olive trees will be selected. At the same time, specialists in sensor engineering and precision agriculture from the AINIA Technology Center and VISIONA will develop tools for the early detection of these pests. In a second stage, the specialist technicians from NEVAL and DCOOP will validate the effectiveness of the products developed in real field conditions.
