Invitation for 20th October 2022, from 9.00 to 12.00:
Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
PAN Europe, National Council of Republic Slovenia, IBMA and IOBC-WPRS are glad to invite you to the symposium Ecological transition starts with agronomy, increasing IPM uptake with biocontrol and significant pesticide dependency reductions on Thursday, the 20th of October 2022, from 09:00 to 12:00 CET live at the Slovenian Parliament. The symposium will be held in Slovenian and English. You can register to follow the event via this link (until the 19th of October). If you plan to attend the conference in person, please, register on Slovenian National Council’s webpage, here (also until 19th of October, 10:00 AM).
With the symposium, we want to provide support to all stakeholders who participate in commenting on the Sustainable Use of Plant Protection Products regulation proposal, and to provide solutions for achieving reduction targets.
We will talk about:
- Exploring the possibilities for cooperation between European and Slovenian institutions, scientists, farmers and consumers in establishing a sustainable agroecological model.
- Importance of increasing the IPM uptake together with biocontrol to significantly reduce the need for chemical pesticides applications.
- Experiences in organic farming in Slovenia.
We hope that the solutions proposed by Slovenian and foreign experts will help Slovenian farmers in solving the problem of unwanted insects and plants, as well as to reduce the occurrence of plant diseases in intensive production.
During the debate, Slovenian and European scientists, politicians and farmers will exchange their experiences, with the aim to find a solution for preserving Slovenian natural resources and at the same time, establishing a sustainable, economically viable, agroecological system.
Please read online the full program.
In case of any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
We look forward to your registration.
