First International Congress on Biological and Integrated Control in Algeria (CILBIA1)

The First International Congress on Biological and Integrated Control in Algeria (CILBIA1), jointly organized by the University of Batna (Algeria), the Scientific Association ‘Biology, Biodiversity and Sustainability’ ‘(BBD, Algeria) and the IOBC-WPRS Commission for IP & Biocontrol in North-African countries “, will take place from 4 to 6 February 2019 in Batna, Algeria.

Aims & Topics

The CILBIA1 congress aims mainly to exchange between scientists, farmers and representatives of the concerned organizations; scientific knowledge as well as cumulative experiences on biocontrol-related scientific topics. In addition, CILBIA1 also ambitions to identify skills, resource persons and organizations working in the areas of interest of the congress, with a view to setting up an interactive network dedicated to “Development of biological and integrated control in Algeria”.

Main scientific topics:

  • Bio-ecological knowledge and assessment of damages caused by plant diseases, weeds and pests / disease vectors in agrosystems, forests and urban environments (human health)
  • Biological and integrated protection of crop as a means of preserving biodiversity
  • Phytosanitary product registration procedures and risk assessment and biosecurity
