David Cary

David has been IBMA’s inaugural Executive Director, starting in 2010. An entomologist by training, his career path has been focused on IPM, resistance management, implementation of biocontrol techniques, and systems based control of pests and diseases.

David was a key player in the formation of BPG (BioProtection Global) and works closely with international bodies including OECD, FAO and EPPO. Working today as Special Advisor to IBMA, he promotes a globally harmonised regional regulatory and product development focus and is confident that we will see more global co-ordination in the near future. 


Sara Chatham

Sara served IBMA through establishing administrative support and communication from the establishment of the association until the office was moved to and fully established and maintained in Brussels.


Ralf-Udo Ehlers

A major actor in the BioControl sector, both in the academic and industrial world as visiting professor at Msc in Nematology at the Department of Biology in Ghent University and one of the Managing Director of E-nema an entreprise active in Biopesticides since 1997. He has served as IBMA treasurer for 6 years.

Ulf Heilig

Ulf is serving the interests of IBMA since he was appointed by Bernard Blum to provide and manage regulatory affairs for the association in the EU and at OECD level. He has established the IBMA Regulatory Affairs website and provides valuable advice and assistance to the IBMA Board, Executive Director, Executive Committee and Members to this day.

Willem Ravensberg

Willem Ravensberg has served IBMA as its President from 2013 to 2018. As Regulatory and Governmental Affairs Manager and Member of the Management Team of the BU Microbials of Koppert Biological Systems his more than 30 years of experience in research and development of beneficial insects and microorganisms for crop protection products benefitted also IBMA.


Robin Sheppard

Served IBMA Global representing the Semiochemicals Professional Group and IBMA UK as Secretary and was responsible for co-ordinating the IBMA SCLP Task Force combined regulatory dossier and managing the registration process.


Vittorio Veronelli

Vittorio has served IBMA committees, National Groups, Executive Committee, Board and our industry unselfishly and diligently from 2004. His role on the Triumvirate and Board has been particularly productive for our association and our industry.

In Memoriam

Bernard Blum

Served IBMA as it’s founding president and was instrumental in establishing the association as the “go to” organisation for biocontrol within EU institutions and OECD. In 2015 an Award was established to honour Bernard and reward practical biocontrol solutions coming to the market.

Louis Damoiseau

Served IBMA Global as Treasurer and IBMA France as President and was responsible for establishing biocontrol training within the Academy of Biocontrole in Paris.

Michel Guillon

Served IBMA as it’s second president and established outreach efforts to obtain global membership and promotion of biocontrol.
