Bernard Blum Award

Call for Applications

The Bernard Blum Award is given annually to the most innovative biocontrol product of the year.

The award recipient should have a high impact in the management of pests or diseases whilst having a low impact on human health and the environment.

Criteria

The Jury focuses on the following criteria:

  • Scientific Foundation and Merit
  • Degree of Innovation
  • Contribution to Sustainable Agriculture
  • Commercial opportunity

This year there will be 4 entries rewarded at ABIM and all 4 will be given the chance to present their innovation.

  • Bronze Award for an innovative Biocontrol product
  • Silver Award for an innovative Biocontrol product
  • Gold Award for an innovative Biocontrol product
  • Award for best innovative product assisting uptake of biocontrol

Every year since 2015, an independent jury selects among a number of entries a winning biocontrol product which provides an effective solution in the management of pests or diseases while having a low impact on human health and the environment.

Similar to the past seven years, IBMA will award a trophy, interview and product placement in New AG International and 2BMonthly publications, as well as complementary registration for ABIM 2024 for the winning innovation. 

The four shortlisted finalists will have the opportunity to present their innovative products at the award ceremony and display a banner at ABIM 2024, the premier global biocontrol industry event.
