Publication of organics annexes I and VI[N(1]  – Regulation 2021/1165

With the publication of the amended organic farming regulation (REGULATION (EU) 2025/973) in the Official Journal of the European Union, IBMA celebrates two major wins for biocontrol in organic farming. On one hand, the removal of restrictions in Annex I now allows all types of semiochemical dispensers, including sprayable and microencapsulated formulations, to be used in organic farming. On the other hand, Annex VI supports biocontrol producers globally by allowing straightforward approval of microorganisms for use in organic farming in third countries, without the need for an Annex VI dossier, although some limitations may apply. This ensures that organic products grown with biocontrol solutions authorized only in third countries can be easily imported.
