IBMA Joins 23 Stakeholders in Signing a Letter to Improve EFSA’s Expertise

IBMA has signed a joint letter with 23 other stakeholders, titled “Open Letter of Business and Agri-Food Industry stakeholders on the need for a high-performing EFSA to boost the competitiveness of the EU agri-food sector” (28 May 2025). This comes as discussions with EFSA continue on how to improve its expertise, in line with the European Commission’s Vision for Agriculture and Food. The letter aligns with the feedback previously gathered from our members through a survey on EFSA’s performance between 2017 to 2024 and addresses key topics such as Transparency Regulation and other issues important to our industry. Together, we call for practical steps to ensure EFSA’s risk assessments are efficient, science-based, and supportive of innovation and competitiveness across the EU agri-food sector.
