The Annual Biocontrol Industry Meeting (ABIM) 2026 will take place from 20 to 22 October in Basel, Switzerland. The organization is now inviting attendees who are active in the field of biocontrol to submit abstracts for presentations.
Before you start the process, please:
- Note that after clicking on the “Submit Abstract” button, you will be asked to create an account. The account should belong to the person who intends to present at ABIM 2026 and the email address should be the same one that will later be used for conference registration.
- Make sure you have a profile image of yourself ready to upload.
- Note that if your abstract is selected, the PDF of the presentation will be made publicly available in the archive of the ABIM website.
- Agree to abide by the Antitrust Policy and Code of Conduct (see terms&conditions).
- Note that during the submission process, it is possible to save your entry and continue later.
1. Sessions
We invite submissions for the following sessions and workshops:
- Showcasing innovations (20 October 2026, 14:00-16:00 CET)
Plant health is a top priority for farmers, who urgently need more effective biocontrol solutions to protect their crops and sustain food production. Biocontrol companies are stepping up to meet this challenge. This session will offer insights into the latest advancements shaping the future of crop protection. We are looking for innovations in all biocontrol categories Microbials, Semiochemicals, Natural Substances and Invertebrate Biocontrol Agents (Macrobials), as well as the use of digital technologies (monitoring, diagnostics, and precision) in conjunction with biocontrol.
- From Field to Yield: Effective IPM for Major Arable Crops (21 October 2026, 16:30-18:00 CET)
In a world of declining chemical solutions and increasing problems due to pest and disease resistance in broad acre crops, biocontrol solutions are becoming more important both in stand-alone and integrated programmes worldwide. Speakers are invited to present case studies of broad acre crops from each continent showing the effectiveness and economic viability of IPM programmes, including biocontrol options.
- Navigating Regulatory Pathways for Complex Mixtures, Peptides & RNAi (22 October 2026, 08:30-10:00 CET)
The risk assessment of complex mixtures such as microbial metabolites, peptides and RNAi is an evolving science. How to determine the regulatory pathway for these complex mixtures, a process often referred to as “problem formulation”, meaning “how to resolve the problem”, is a key topic for regulators worldwide. This session explores ideas on best practices for achieving a robust safety evaluation.
2. Forms of Presentation
- Your presentation should be in person and no longer than 5 minutes for “Showcasing Innovations” and 10 minutes for “From Field to Yield: Effective IPM for Major Arable Crops” and “Navigating Regulatory Pathways for Complex Mixtures, Peptides & RNAi.”
- If your abstract is selected, you will be notified of the time assigned for your presentation.
3. Guidelines for Submission of Abstracts
3.1. The abstract proposal should explain the topic of your presentation, and describe why the material, research, practice, product, innovation or policy is important to the field of biocontrol.
3.2. The abstracts for the presentation must be submitted in English.
3.3. The maximum length of the submitted text is 5000 characters including spaces. Abstracts should be submitted as text only, without any graphics, attachments, or additional material.
3.4. The title of your abstract should have no more than 100 characters.
3.5. Name all authors.
4. Presenter information
4.1. The following presenter(s) information should be submitted: First name, last name, affiliation/company, country, e-mail address, biography and profile image.
5. Submission deadline
5.1. Please submit an abstract to the session of your choice via the online registration system by 15 June 2026, 23:59 CET.
6. Review process
